Ducks At A Distance

Can domestic mallard ducks leave home to nest?

One of our ducks has disappeared, they were in a secure area with a fresh water pond and always walked around in a group. But, in recent days Daphne (the missing duck) and Darcey our other mallard were flying too and from the forest beside our household, last night Daphne didn’t return. Unfortunately she may have been taken by a predator, but, one of our aylesbury ducks is currently nesting at home, is it possible that a mallard duck force prefer to nest in undergrowth or trees & force disappear while nesting?

Why is my duck no longer laying?

My 9 month old Campbell duck has recently stopped laying, she has been laying 1 egg a day (without fail) for many months now.
It has now been 3 days without an egg.

She has no parasites/worms.
There is no chance of a predator taking the eggs.
She has not been sitting on eggs, so is not broody.
It is relatively warm weather.
& as far as i can tell she is in good health (she is behaving as she usually does).

Any help would be gratefully appreciated :) Thanks.

I am looking for plans on how to build a floating duck house.?

Not for a wood duck….huge enough for four pekin ducks and two big white geese. Plans for a non-floating household would be good too. Keep in mind that we are in a gray predator area.
