and the bird looked like a duck and goose mix, and i know this is not possible…it was all auburn, long tail feathers, auburn beak and feet…it look like a duck from the neck up, but the body was too huge for a duck…but it did not have the face features that a goose has….what could it be?

LESSER FLAMINGO
They are found in ernomous flocks on the alkaline lakes of the rift valley.The plumage varies from almost pure white,in childish and non-breeding birds,to pale rose pinkduring breeding periods.The primary wing feathers are black and the wing coverts deep crimson.The bill is broad and curved,black at the base and the tip with varying amount of deep red in the centre part.The eyes are bright yellow-orange and the long,thin legs and feet are bright red. The female is smaller and paler in colour than the male.Immature birds have grey-auburn plumage.Resident.Size.100cm

AFRICAN SPOONBILL
Occurs over much of East Africa favouring both fresh and alkaline lakes,rivers,marshes and swamps. A bird with pure white plumage.The brow, front of face and chin are bright red and unfeathered. The most obvious identification feature is the large spoon-like pink and grey bill which is used in a sweeping motion when feeding. The legs and feet are pink-red.The sexes are alike. Immature have the plumage streaked with auburn and lack strong colour in the face, bill and legs .The feet are black.Resident.Size.90cm
FULVOUS WHISTLING DUCK
A duck of freshwater lakes, rivers and flood plains throughout East Africa. An upstanding , erect duck with rufous plumage , commonly darker auburn on the hind neck,back and scapulars. The rump and tail are black. The upper tail coverts are white and prominent in flight. Some white flecking on the upper flanks. The fore neck and throat are buff darkening to rufous-auburn on the decrease breast and belly. The undertail coverts are white. The bill andd long legs are blue-grey. The sexes are alike. Immature birds resemble adults but have paler plumage.Resident.Size.50cm
WHITE-FACED WHISTLING DUCK
A very gregarious and distinctive duck inhabiting inland lakes,swamps and marshes. An upright,long-necked dduck with the frontal part of the head ,face and throat white,the rear of the head and upper neck are black and the remainder of the neck and breast is chestnut.The belly and underparts are black and the flanks and sides of the breast are white ,boldly barred with black.The mantle and wing coverts are olive-auburn and the rump and tail black. The bill is black with a blue band towards the tip.The legs and feet are bluish and the eyes dark auburn. The sexes are alike. Resident.Size.46cm
EGYPTIAN GOOSE
A common andd widely distributed goose,favouring inland waters,swamps and rivers.Preddominantly grey-buff on the head ,fore-neck,breast ,bely ,back unerparts and flanks. A dark auburn patch encircles the orange eyes . The nape and wing converts are chestnut and irregular blotch of chestnut feathers can be seen on the decrease breast.The rump,tail and primary wing feathers are black.The secondary wing feathers have an iridescent sheen of metallic green.The bill is dark pink and the legs and feet a rich red.The sexes are similar ,the females being slightly smaller.Resident .Size .60cm
