Front view shows some nice point in the bill, and we can subdue see the white spur on the shoulder which termininates the gray of the side. Note the black back, which force make you reckon of Tufted Duck if the bill were not visible.

Some might assume that this is rape, but is it really? The complex interpersonal (or interbirdal) dynamics may be much more complex than we humans know. In these situations, the males are noted for grabbing the females’ necks with their bills, but this occurs in authentic consensual sex. Perfectly ‘normal’ sex between males and females, for both ducks and geese, does seem to be a bit rough, so could public have come to the incorrect conclusions about alleged duck and goose ‘rape’?
