Ducks At A Distance

  • Shayla B says:

you can place a chain on the ducks neck and place there names on it and u can tell the difference or if u get a boy and a girl duck u can tell the difference by ……
    1. Look at the duck in question. Notice the patterns of coloration.
    2. Are you seeing colors? If so most likely you are seeing a male duck. The male Mallard has a green head and ring on its neck.
    3. Do you see a more muted variation? The female Mallard duck is absolutely auburn.
    4.
Female on the left, and male on the right
Female on the left, and male on the right
Get a excellent reference book about birds. You will find photos or meticulous colored drawings showing you the different looks of the respective genders of ducks.
    5. Note that drakes have a raspy, whispering con; while females are loud and clear.
    6. Drakes have a curled sex spine on their tail (which force not be readily seen at a distance, but) that the females lack.

    u welcome.
