The other ducks go about their business. Loop is a hard working mommy. I suppose it depends on the mama duck. If she’s real tame, she force not mind you getting close. One of our ducks before Loopy was very patient with me and her brood and never tried to scare me off. Loopy is a fierce mama.

Check out ‘Growing Up Duck’ For video of that baby’s sister, Wilma. It’s got better picture and sound and was shot over 2 months of a small ducks life.

Hi! If there is no male duck to fertilize the egg before it gets laid, it will not hatch. You can eat the egg just like a chicken egg. Duck eggs are a small more rubbery than chicken eggs though so they are fantastic for batter or baking. We collect our ducks eggs and use them in baking. Every year Loopy likes to sit on her eggs and hatch them.

Hey, I just looked at the marcher19 coop and my household is very similar in size and shape. I like my run design better because of the access doors on top.

Loopy is a white call and the rest are mixed colors. Not sure what to call them. Possibly Mallard or Chocolate but I don’t know if those are standard names.
